Hold My Breath

On the day that you were made
My future came to be
Floating through an endless time

Until I saw your face
Little did I know it then
But you would save my life

Oh I'm holding
My breath for us
You're not living
What's in the stars

Little did we know then
What god had planned

Don't forget our happy days
I know I never will
Every time I see your smile
My heart begins to break
I can see it in your eyes
You feel the heartache too

Oh I'm holding
My breath for us
You're not living
What's in the stars

There's a future to be had
But we're too much the same
Neither wants to turn back time
Even if it's meant to be
The universe will find a way
It's all I can believe

Little did we know then
What god had planned

Off That Ledge

Each time I learn the rules to live
They seem to change the game again
It's not enough for me to play the way I was

Remember that it's a journey
and sometimes you're gonna free fall
Sometimes you gotta throw yourself right off that ledge

I'm not afraid
I'm just learning
I'll live my life
When I learn to take control

I'll take control
I know I can
I will learn it
When I'm not afraid to live

I don't need your agitation
I wont let you put me under
I've done my best to get me where I am right now

You cannot plan a life like this
It takes strength I don't know I have
Sometimes it takes all you got to get through a day

I'm not afraid
I'm just learning
I'll live my life
When I learn to take control

I'll take control
I know I can
I will learn it
When I'm not afraid to live

I don't give up because I know I can't
I'll put this fight up til the day I die
I know I'll have to deal with all the pain
I know I will not let it take me down

It's time to divide & conquer
I must take it all back over
I cannot let things stand in my way anymore

Remember that it's a journey
It takes strength I don't know I have
It's not enough for me to play the way I was

Next Time

Today a girl smiled at me at the gas station
I looked away and I don't know why
"smile back" my brain said
"no it's too late" I responded
why didn't I smile?
I guess I didn't want her to think I was looking at her
but I was looking at her and she was looking at me
wait, is that how these things happen?

look to see if she is looking at you
no! wait!
don't make it obvious
just peak
I can't tell
maybe she is
ok
look
she turned but she might have been looking
crap now she's going in to pay
well try to wait to leave until she comes back out
well then maybe I do want a receipt
where is she?
well I'll get into the car
read the receipt

oh here she comes
oh wow she looked and smiled again
maybe she thinks I'm waiting for her to move her car so I can leave
don't let her think that
back up and leave a different way
but she might have been into you
yeah I know
next time

Show Me Her Face

I'll love you forever
If I could just see your face
I know you're waiting for me
As much as I'm waiting for you
I know it's taking forever
But I know God will come through
'cause it's dark and empty
In a world without you

Show me her face lord
Show it to me now
'cause I love her
I don't even know her
I want to hold her tonight

One day I'll find you
And I'll know it in my heart
Until that day I'll be hoping
That you will pass my way
My life doesn't begin
Until the day you step in
I'll hold you til the day you die
And I know I'll die then

What We Forget

In my life there's no escape
From the pain I feel today
The music plays but I get no joy
Cause I forgot to feel

I take a walk to ease my brain
I hear children playing in the park
down the street a dog it barks
things I forgot to feel

nothings safe
nothings sacred
we forget so much
we never knew

we grow old
and we grow cold
we forget so much
we never knew

sun comes up alarm goes off
another day begins again
I want to feel alive today
what I forgot to feel

See me now a man removed
from what I used to be
the pain is gone I let it go
this I forgot to feel

nothings safe
nothings sacred
we forget so much
we never knew

we grow old
and we grow cold
we forget so much
we never knew

I'm feeling what I never knew
do you feel it too
nothing I cannot do
living life with you
